ZIM js JavaScript Framework

Canvas Components, Controls and more!

ZIM HEP (7) Launches for #Canvas with #JavaScript, #CreateJS and #ZIMjs

ZIM HEP (7) has launched at http://zimjs.com  with TypeScript support, a new software Keyboard for Canvas, documentation improvements, and a variety of great updates found at http://zimjs.com/updates.html.

It has never been a better time to come in and learn about ZIM – see http://zimjs.com/skool and join our Slack team at http://zimjs.com/slack.

Here are some supporting videos:

ZIM Docs at http://zimjs.com/docs.html now have video examples added.  The links can be found at the bottom of each entry by the “view” and “bits” buttons.  There is now a “vids” button on most of the entries.  This links to Bubbling, Capture, Code Zero, Explore, etc. ZIM videos about the topic.

The top of the docs also link to the ZIM Helper Modules (Socket, Game, Physics, Three, Pizzazz and Pizzazz2) which have their documentation at the top of the code.  All the docs on these files have been updated to be consistent in format with a description, examples, information on parameters, methods, properties, events, etc.

We are currently working on a visual editor that will create code for making components, controls, animation and more.  We very much like that ZIM is a coding language and really do not want to create and IDE like Flash to make coding easy.  So we are not totally sure that we will launch this editor – but we will see how it goes.

ZIM at http://zimjs.com is an open source JavaScript Framework for the HTML Canvas. You code in a text editor and view the code in a Browser. You can make visually rich games, apps, art and sites. ZIM is powered by the wonderful CreateJS with many thanks to their team!

The ZIM site features the following sections:

  • LEARN tutorials on how to start and code in ZIM
  • CODE ZIM Frame template and code context
  • DOCS the objects and commands all defined
  • NEWS latest features and articles
  • ABOUT features, applications, archives, reviews, etc.
  • EXAMPLES sample projects created in ZIM
